It's Kili Time

View of the sun rising above the clouds at the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro
Our trekking group
the morning of day 4
Just after sunrise on New Year’s Day, exhausted, we proudly reached the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro. After several hours of hiking, which began right after midnight on December 31st, we finally ended our ascent of Africa’s highest peak that had begun 5 days earlier.  We trudged through wet muddy trails the first three days, and persevered through gusty winds as we neared the summit. We thank God for safety, health, and blessing us with two quality guides named Godliving and Macho. Our trek was accompanied by two fellows from Holland and two brothers from London.  Check out our pictures below and click the slide show to be taken to our Picasa Photo Web Album.

Happy New Year from Uhuru Peak
