Children's Bible Club

On the first Saturday in June, we traveled to the village of Kadegwa to take part in a Children's Bible Club festival. Children's Bible Clubs are an outreach ministry coordinated by Diakonia Compassionate Ministries and facilitated by deaconesses, pastors, evangelists, and church members throughout western Kenya.

Clubs are open to children up through eighth grade, and while started at surrounding Lutheran churches, are open to all children in the community.  Kids gather on Saturdays or Sundays for a few hours to sing songs, learn Bible stories, memorize Scripture verses, and recite the chief parts of the Small Catechism.

A group of visitors from North Dakota and Minnesota were also present for the fun-filled day and participated with songs of their own and teaching a lesson on the Lord's Supper. Check out some video from the event.
